HSP-60 peptide conjugates convert a weak antigen into a strong immunogen

Advantages of VacciGuard's Technology Print E-mail

VacciGuard's vaccine technology has the following advantages over the existing vaccine technologies:

  • The conjugated vaccines act as natural/endogenous adjuvants. Therefore there is no need for an external adjuvant with its associated side-effects.

  • The carriers, HSP-60-derived peptides, are relatively short and do not induce the production of neutralizing antibodies. Therefore, no "carrier-induced epitope suppression" phenomena are elicited. This contrasts with carriers such as the tetanus toxoid, cholera toxin or diphteria toxoid.

  • HSP-60 derived peptides are universal T cell epitopes and therefore enhance the T cell function, supporting the generation of long-lasting memory (formation of IgG antibodies by B cells).

  • The conjugated vaccines are relatively stable and easy to store.
