Several studies have been carried out with VacciGuard's WNV vaccine candidates.

The vaccine is a chimeric peptide consisting of an HSP-60-derived peptide (the carrier, 17aa) and the antigenic peptide (Ep15, 15 aa) derived from the envelope of WNV. Mice were immunized three times with the vaccine. Seven days after the last immunization, mice were challenged with 100 LD50 of WNV (KVI strain), ip injection. Mortality was monitored for 21 days post challenge.

Vacciguard Challenge Study

Very similar results were obtained when mice were challenged with the NY strain of WNV.
